For partial pressure problems, if you're given the volume of a container and that container includes a liquid, do you use the volume of the entire container for your calculations despite there being liquid occupying space?

Well, logically I'd think since the liquid is held within the container, it takes up the space of the container itself, so yeah, I'd use the volume of the container. Im not 100% sure on this, (learning this as well) but I believe the volume will not change

if you have a 1.0L container with 750mL of liquid in it, the available space for the vapors is only 250mL. However, if you're not given specific information about the amount of liquid in the container, you have to assume that the vapor has all the room to expand
