HELP PLEASE Which of the following conditions occurs as a solid melts? 1. Kinetic energy of the molecules exceeds the strength of the intermolecular forces. 2. Kinetic energy of the molecules equals the strength of the intermolecular forces. 3. Strengths of the intermolecular forces of the molecules exceed the kinetic energy.

1-kinetic energy exceeds the strength of the intermolecular forces 2-amorphous solid 3-all angle are of 90 degree and sides are equal...

No

OpenStudy (whydoihavetosignup1):

what about that medal thooooooo?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Melting occurs when the substance is given enough energy so that kinetic energy of its particles exceed its intermolecular forces. Similarly freezing occurs i.e liquid transforms into solids when enough energy is extracted from it so that the kinetic energy of its particles becomes less than the intermolecular forces between its particles.
