The graph of F(x), shown below, resembles the graph of G(x) = x2, but it has been changed somewhat. Which of the following could be the equation of F(x)? http://s23.postimg.org/z45kqbyaz/khdaksdj.gif
HI!!
find one with a \(+1\) out at the end if you have choices
all of them do. lol
-x^2+1
find one with a coefficient greater than one
like \(2x^2+1\) or sommat
4x^2+1
x^2+1
0.4x^2+1
so far the one with the four in front
yeah pick \(4x^2+1\) mr X
can you explain how to do it?
lol "Mr.X"
it is up one, that explains the plus one out at the end
and it is narrower than \(x^2\) so the coefficient in front has to be larger than one
if it was a negative coefficient it would be flipped over the x axis if the coefficient was less than one it would be wider
you can also see that \((1,5)\) is on the graph and \(4\times 1^2+1=5\)
ok thank you
