"As on dilution, more ions are produced in solution, so the conductance should also increase on dilution." But I thought if you're diluting a solution, aren't there less ions present for the same amount of solvent?

The statement is true for the weak electrolyte as their ability to produce the ions increases with dilution! where as it wont hold good for strong electrolyte!
