How would you completely factor this problem.

use the quadratic formula to find the roots. You can use the roots to find the factorization. Why does this work? Because the factorization of a polynomial helps you find the roots. So you're thinking backwards in a way. Ex: y = x^2 + 5x + 6 has the roots x = -3 and x = -2. You can use the quadratic formula to find them. Then you use those roots to get this factorization (x+3)(x+2)
