OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

How many grams of a stock solution that is 87.5 percent H2SO4 by mass would be needed to make 275 grams of a 55.0 percent by mass solution? Show all of the work needed to solve this problem.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

@Abhisar ?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Where are you stuck?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I really don't even know how to start

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Well, your final solution contains 55% by mass of sulfuric acid, and you have 275 g of that solution. So simply multiply them to get your mass of sulfuric acid. Rpeat the same with your 87%. stock solution.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

You can then set them equatl to each other as a proportion.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

.55*275 for the sulfuric acid?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Yes. that is your final solution.
