Please help! An ion has a charge of 2- and 18 electrons. From which atom does this ion form? How do you know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The ion has two more electrons than it would normally have if it were a neutral element. That means that if it were neutral, it would have 16 electrons and it would also have 16 protons. The number of protons in the element tells you the atomic number. On a periodic table, look up the element with an atomic number of 16.

Thank you so much! It is sulfur by the way.
