f*g requires you to multiply the 2 functions \[(x^2 + 3x -4) \times (x +4)\] the result will be a degree 3 polynomial. are there any values of x that can't be put into the new function..? the input of x values is the domain for f/g you have \[\frac{x^2 + 3x -4}{x + 4}\] look to see if there are any values of x that you can't have so looking at this, you might factor the numerator. and see if there are common factors... hope it helps
