I need some help with balancing chemical equations...can i get some?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i reallly need help

OpenStudy (aaronq):

What exactly is giving you trouble in these questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where is your equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i got distracted... so one equation is Na+O2+Na2O

OpenStudy (aaronq):

so the point of these questions is to get the number of atoms equal on both sides by writing coefficients infront of the species. Coefficients work as multiplicative operators, \(3~CO\) means that there are 3 C's and 3 O's. For example, \(AB\rightarrow A_2+B_2\) Right side: 1 A, 1 B Left side: 2 A, 2 B Add a two infront of AB: \(\color{red}2AB\rightarrow A_2+B_2\) Right side: 2 A, 2 B Left side: 2 A, 2 B balanced.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

I wrote right side and left side backwards, please note that error. So for your question: \(Na+O_2+\rightarrow Na_2O\) Left side: 1 Na, 2 O Right side: 2 Na, 1 O

thank you soo much anyway!!
