Do you need a comma before a conjunction?
Put a Comma before a Conjunction If It Joins Two Independent Clauses
Yes I believe you do
@HannahA What does that mean?
you know what an independent Clauses is right?
An independent clause is a group of words that contains a subject and verb and expresses a complete thought. An independent clause is a sentence.
So basically if the part of the sentence can stand alone it's an independent clause.
An independent clause (or main clause) is a clause that can stand by itself as a simple sentence. An independent clause contains a subject and a predicate; it makes sense by itself and therefore expresses a complete thought. Independent clauses can be joined by using a semicolon or by using a comma followed by a coordinating conjunction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so).
So like "I am" is an independent clause correct?
