you have an unknown solution of HNO3 and a solution of 0.50 M KOH. you placed 20 mL of HNO3 into the flask and used 40mL of KOH? write the balenced chemical equation for the acid base titration. calculate the concentration of your unknown solution. COULD YOU PLEAASSSEEEE HELP ME BY EXPLAINING EXACTLY HOW TO DO THIS? and could you help me through the problems?
write a balanced reaction first
HNO3 + KOH - ?
& balance it
step 2 you are given concentration & volumeof KOH thus use this formula conc = mole / dm3 dm3 is unit of volume u need for this formula and conc is given thus find mole of KOH
now once u get the mole & u have a balanced reaction look at the ratio between KOH & HNO3 coefficient of KOH = known mole of KOH coefficient of HNO3 = X mole of HNO3 so X= (coefficient of HNO3 x known mole of KOH) / coefficient of KOH so this way, you will find mole of HNO3
lastly use same formula conc = mole / dm3 you got mole of HNO3 & you have volume given in the question (dont forget about unit) thus use the values and get your final ans for concentration
