Fan & medal!!! Please help. (Question below in the picture)
I know the one pointing to the ^3 is an exponent, I don't know the mathematical name for hte others.
just so you know, after you turn in this assignment you will never again be asked this question, because nobody in the real world cares. But i also don't know the answer so i can't help, just ranting.
Lol, ikr. I've had teachers tell me that 99% of the stuff you learn in school you will never use.
actually maybe not everything on there is useless, the exponent is useful, and then it's good to know that any constant multiplied by a variable is a coefficient |dw:1426094455747:dw|
*the constant is the coefficient
5 is the coefficient right?
oh maybe this does have use, and yes 5 is the coefficient, also if you plug in 0 for x, you will be left with the y intercept
So is the +6x also a coefficient? And what about that -4?
if you plug in 0 to the equation you are left with 0+0-4 = -4 and the point(0,-4) which is your y intercept +6x has a coefficient in it, but i think they're asking for what the whole thing is, which i don't know
Its not asking me to solve it, but thanks for helping. I'll try to figure out the rest.
the -4 is your y intercept, because if you plug in 0 you are left with -4, that's what i was trying to get at
Oh so the answer to the -4 part is y intercept?
yea
Okay thanks, that just leaves me with one. :D
