I would first try to figure out the limits: start and end values of the integral any ideas ?
0 to 3?
I am looking at the sum \[\sum_{i=1}^{n} f(a+i \Delta x)\] where dx is approaching zero.
It seems that the first value we will get is f(a) if we put in (b-a)/n for dx and evaluate at i=n the last term is f( a + n*(b-a)/n)
and that is to find the limit?
I'm thinking that simplifies to b a+b-a= b so the start is a and the finish is b it's a start...
so b is 3?
looking at the actual problem (2+ i * 3/n) * 3/n and matching that with the top right expression I would say f(a+ i Dx) matches with (2 + i*Dx) and Dx with 3/n
if we call "a+iDx" x (for the moment) we have f(x) = x in other words, we have a simply y= x as the function now match a with 2 and using the idea that a is the start limit, I would say we start at 2 the Dx is 3/n matches with (b-a)/n so 3 = b-a but a is 2, so 3 = b-2 and b= 5 I would say the limits are 2 to 5

so expect something like \[ \int_2^5 x \ dx\]

Yes, I think so. I went through some substitutions and go the same answer. Using a table is much faster (if they allow that )
