theres only one god he died for youre sins god is great

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Christ died for our sins, not to continue in them. For those who consider they can continue in them and then be saved, consciously, will be disappointed. It's a rough road considering I can always change my mind continuing on a path of destruction.

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

@KenLJW @huntin14 Why does god need to sacriface himself to forgive the sins? Why doesn't he just forgive them? The very point of you saying "God", dies. Why does God die? The moment you say God Dies is irrational.

*There's *your Do not post anything unless if it is a question. Thank you.

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

I did ask a question, in fact I asked two questions.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I never said God died for our sins, read Pslams 22. I find many in this site trying to talk about scripture without having read them. Sort of like knowing E = m C^2 and not really understand it in all it's ramifications. They say a little knowledge is worse than no knowledge at all, the reason being not only your wrong steps but those who come in contact with you are injured. I found out the hard way about taking another's word for something and not checking it out myself. My admonishing is check sources and compare to ones own experience or at least be ready for certain experiences.

@alphadxg I was talking to huntin14

Oh ok. lol

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

When God created man, man was perfect -- without sin. God was gracious enough to give us free will -- the right to make our own choices and decisions. When man chose to disobey God, he/she became sinful and separated from God. But, the punishment for sin is death -- condemnation to hell. God couldn't simply "say" we were forgiven. He couldn't just say: "Oh, I was just kidding about not sinning -- you don't really have to be punished." Rather, God, in all his righteousness, loved us too much to let us die. He sent his son, Jesus Christ, to pay the debt we owed God. It's only through the death and resurrection of Jesus that the burden of death can be defeated. That is grace. I once heard a neat acronym for GRACE: "God's Riches at Christ's Expense." That pretty much sums it up. Only through the death of Christ can we be saved. What a beautiful GIFT! All you have to do is accept it. It's free! There's no need to feel guilty about Christ's death. He did it because he loved us so much. When we accept his gift of salvation, we let go of our sinful selves -- we're "reborn" into a forgiven life filled with God's grace -- a clean slate. There's nothing you can do to lose this salvation. Christ's gift is everlasting. The only thing He wants in return is for you to accept this gift and love him back! This is the amazing thing about Christianity. Christianity is the only religion where our debt has already been paid for us. We don't have to ask for it. We don't have to work for it. We don't have to kill ourselves for it. We don't have to meditate or "achieve" anything.

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

@alphadxg

OpenStudy (kenljw):

You have to ask yourself what it means to accept Christ, it means, if you read the Lord's prayer your asking the God the Father for forgiveness. This is not human forgiveness but divine forgiveness which requires one to recognize their sins and ask for correction and guidance so as not to continue in a sinful path. This is not easy to look at ones life and recognize where they truly have been, just the statement I believe in Christ is not sufficient but one has to adopt a new life and truly ask for guidance from God the Father.

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Exactly ^
