Please I really need someone to explain how to solve this problem!!!! Calculate the moment of inertia of a 12.2kg sphere of radius 0.623m when the axis of rotation is through its center.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/5)*M*R^2. (2/5) x 12.2 kg x (0.623)^2 = 1.89 kgm^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did that help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where did the 2/5 come from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait does the 2/5 come from it being a sphere?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
