okay well it stands for First, Outer, Inner, and Last so what you want to do is multiply the first number in each parenthesis (3x and 3x which equals 6x)

Your question tells you to find the product of (3x + 7y)(3x - 7y) right? You could use FOIL, but another way to remember that is if you break the question into two parts. What i mean is this: We have (3x + 7y)(3x - 7y) , but you can also re-write it as the following (3x + 7y)(3x - 7y) = 3x ( 3x - 7y) + 7y (3x - 7y) And then expand each part individually and collect like terms :)

What do you mean by inner and last by the way? Is 7y the inner and -7y the last?

the inner would be the two inner numbers. (7y and 3x)
