A 500 g sample of water at 50 C is mixed with another 500 g Sample of water at 70 C. What is the final temperature of the mixture? So im guessing your using the phase change equation which is Q=ML Heat trasnfer= Mass x latent

I might be wrong though.

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Sounds like a temperature equalibrium problem.. What is the specific heat of water in this case?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Actually, since there are the same, you don't even need it. You don't need mass either. Put the hotter substance on the left. (70-tfinal)=(tfinal-50) just solve for t final like this is algebra.

Alright, tag me when you finish this one or got more questions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To be honest im quite confused on solving for tfinal

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

70-x=x-50 does that make it easier
