Please help me with Algebra II! I will give a medal and become a fan of the the person with the best answer! Find the sum: 10E 2i i=1 (picture in comments)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

ok so for here \[\large{\sum _{i=1}^{10}} 2^i\]

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

so, let's discuss first

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

can you tell me what the value of \(2^i=?\) when i=1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that would make it 2^1 or just 2 correct @FibonacciChick666?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

sorry for the delay, yes

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

how about when i=2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry. 2^2 would be 4 @FibonacciChick666

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

yep, so now do that for all the numbers to ten and just add them all together

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

that's all there is to it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So like 2^1-10 or 1-10^1-10? (if that makes sense) @FibonacciChick666 (- means through)

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

the first one. just like we did, we just plug in the i values 1,2,3...,10 then add the resulting values togehter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Thank you!!!!

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

no problem
