since the walls of the test tube TURNED hot, that means that there was a release of heat right? If heat is being released in a chemical reaction, it is known as being exothermic :) If the test tube turned cold, this would mean that the reaction absorbed heat and therefore is endothermic :) Hope this helped you out ^_^
