Make a presentation that compares and contrasts physical and chemical changes. Your presentation must include the following information: Definitions for physical and chemical change: -At least six examples for each type of change -At least three pictures for each type of change -Lists of observable changes that suggest a chemical or physical change has occurred -Methods scientists use to determine if a change was physical or chemical
what part is giving you trouble?
Physical-a reversible change that does not produce a new substance Mixing sand and water Melting ice Boiling water Ripping paper Breaking glass Crushing a can Chemical-an irreversible change that can produce a new substance Burning paper Metal rusting Baking a cake Rotting bananas Souring milk Mixing vinegar and baking soda to produce carbon dioxide Observations When you put an ice cube in the sun, it begins to shrink as it melts -physical. When you hear up water it begins to bubble which shows it is boiling-physical. When iron is exposed to the elements, it's texture and color changes as rust forms-chemical. When you light paper on fire, ash is created as it burns away-chemical. Methods If a change is physical it can be reversed but if it is chemical it cannot be reversed. You can find pictures by looking up some of the examples
