And Indeed I'm willing to give a medal! Find finial temperature when a 25.0g piece of iron at 84.0C is placed into 75.0 grams of water at 20.0C? So the specific heat for iron is 450 and the specific heat for water is 4186 Im having trouble on plugging the numbers in for this question and this question is an equilibrium problem which is Qgain=Qlist M Cp (tfinial-tintial)= M Cp (tintial-tfinal)

C means degree celcius 0.025 kg x 450 J/kgC x (84-T) C= 0.075 kg x 4186 J/kgC x (T-20)C (since the final temperature will be between 84 and 20 C) On solving, T= 26.2122 C
