How do I differentiate an equation using the power rule?

Say you have a function \[f(x) = x^n,~~n \neq 0\] the power rule tells us \[f'(x) = n x ^{n-1}\] so for example if we have \[f(x) = x^5\] and we have to differentiate it. So using the power rule we can do the following; \[f'(x) = 5x^{5-1} \implies 5x^4\] that will be our final result. :)
