Hi! Mg(OH)2+NH4OH---> ? is it possible this reaction ?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

even though it's a double-displacement reaction, do you see that both of the negative ions are the \(same\) ion? If you swap the two negative ions, you'll end up with the same molecules, so no reaction will occur here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i see that they are both negative ,but maybe is complex product .. i don't know...

OpenStudy (jfraser):

its not that they're both negative, it's that they're the \(same\) negative ion

okay thanks .
