How are chemical and physical changes different on a molecular level? A. Chemical changes involve the breaking of bonds in molecules. B. Chemical changes do not affect bonding between atoms. C. Physical changes do not involve molecules. D.Physical changes cause new molecules to form.

I know what a physical and chemical change are, but the molecular part in the sentence is confusing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol i agree, but obviously B and D are out

Atleast i think... guve me a second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would go with A. tbh

OpenStudy (matt101):

A is the correct answer as @ZDoubleM says. B is wrong because the definition of a chemical change is breaking (and forming) bonds between atoms! C is wrong because physical changes must involve molecules - otherwise what else would they use? D is wrong because a physical change doesn't alter the identity of the molecules you're working with - that's a chemical change.
