OpenStudy (amistre64):

this used to cut the link like that in explorer or firefox, cant remember which. chrome doesnt have the issue.

Oh okay.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the sum of xP(x) = 0 is the hint

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or since P(x) = 1/6 for all of them just add up the winnings to get 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried multiplying 1/6 by all of the probabilities and none of them were 0. unless I did something wrong.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

no, the sum of .... x1/6 + x2/6 + x3/6 + ... + x6/6 which is just 1/6 (x1+x2+x3+...+x6) the only time this is zero, is hen the sum of the winnings is zero; what does the last winnings need to be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-12? Thats a guess.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3 + 5 - 10 + 11 + 3 + X = 0 6 + 5 - 10 + 11 + X = 0 11 - 10 + 11 + X = 0 22 - 10 + X = 0 12 + X = 0 X = -12 is correct
