Check my answer! Factor completely: 2x^2 + 10x + 12 A. 2(x + 2)(x + 3) B. 2(x + 2)(x + 6) C. 2(x + 1)(x + 6) D. (x + 2)(x + 3) My answer: B.
Close, but B is wrong
Aww. :(
D
D is wrong @autumnbombb and please don't give direct answers
Yes, if you don't have an explanation, then please don't just leave me an answer.
I have and explanation i am new to this so i dont think it was ok to say something like that . D is the correct answer because if you do borrow pay back you get x^2 + 10x + 24 you then factor that out and get (x+6) (x+4) because 6 and 4 multiplies to get 24 and adds to get 10. you then pay back the 2 and 6 divided by 2 is 3 and 4 divided by 2 is 2
well im sorry its A thanks
Yes, the answer is A :)
Yep, I just found out the answer. Thank you to the both of you!

Wait!
\[(x + 2)(x + 3)\]\[x^2 + 3x + 2x + 5\]\[x^2 + 5x + 5\] Multiplied by 2: \[2x^2 + 10x +~??\]
Where ?? = 10 ??
@KendrickLamar2014 @autumnbombb
are you multiplying the third line by 2 ?
No.... For the third line I just added 2x + 3x to get 5x.
I multiplied the last (fourth) line by 2.
so wouldnt you just multiply the 5 by 2 as well ?
If you did you would get a 2, which would make A. an incorrect answer, right?
oh , no you do multiplication so you multiple 2(x+2) together and get (2x+4) tehn multiply that by (x+3)
OHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I understand! Thank you sooo much! :D :D :D
