How many valence electrons does strontium (Sr) have? 1 2 5 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Apocalyptic_Ash , @matt101

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, it should have about 36 electrons.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The strontium ion is Sr2+ with the same electron configuration as Kr. Sr element has an atomic number of 38- the neutrl Sr tom has 38 protons in its nucleus and 38 electrons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I believe that it may be 2 valence electrons.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Therefore, the ion Sr2+ has 2 less - 36.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 2 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! :)
