two small identical spherical conductor ( point charges ) , 0.6 meters apart from each other , have a combined charging at 200 uC . They repel each other with a force of 120 N. ( a) Calculate the charge on each conductor . ( B ) the two conductors are brought together so that an electrical contact occurs and is then apart so that it is 100 uC on each conductor . Calculate the force that one wire exerts on the other conductor When they are 0.6m Apart.

hello @IrishBoy123 Yea so \[q=\sqrt{\frac{ F*r^2 }{ k }}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you draw up this for me? I have a hard time picturing it..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okey, but a) is the equation i wrote before? but what is b)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the same thing but 100 uC?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

sorry. the question is slightly misleading. let me start again. you know that \[q_1 + q_2 = 200 \mu C\] also that \[F = \frac{k q_1 q_2}{r^2}\] so you can get a second equation for \[q_1 q_2 = [something] \]from Coumumbs law, and then solve.
