Which of these elements would be assigned the highest electronegativity value?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which ones?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

elelctronegativity is the tendency to attract the valence shell paired electrons to the nucleus .. thus by this info we can sugges that group 7 non metal like flourine is the most electronegative . And electronegativity is also inversely proportional to size of the atom. plus the gropu trend is opposite to that of the period trend in the periodic table .some of the E.N values were previously estimated and from the they were understood in the respective order like cl - 4.0 S , O - 3-5 N - 3.0 C- 2.5 H - 2.1 Cs Nd Fs- 0.7 group trend of electronegativity - it idecreases down the group due to increase in iits atomic size period trend of electronegativity : it increases across the period due to increase in the atomic size hope this helps you. thankyou @brianna1125

Probably be Cl since it's 4.0
