How to find the coordinates for finding the slope? I'm having trouble with figuring out how to read the graphs to find the coordinates. Could anyone help me? Posting attachment below.

@e.mccormick
iYuko (iyuko):
See those 3 dots? Well pick one.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Any of them?
iYuko (iyuko):
Uh Huh

Okay I guess the second one going down then. at the 2.
iYuko (iyuko):
2 of them srry
iYuko (iyuko):
Pick 2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay.. and the top one.
iYuko (iyuko):
So the top and the middle?

yeah
iYuko (iyuko):
\[m=\frac{ -2 }{ 1 }\]
iYuko (iyuko):
For Y=mx+b
OpenStudy (anonymous):
?
iYuko (iyuko):
Fo just -2

We have to make an equation
iYuko (iyuko):
so now we have y=-2x=b Now we will find b (y-intercept)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I thought you just had to find the coordinates and then put them in a fraction and subtract :/
iYuko (iyuko):
I did that part for you
OpenStudy (anonymous):
? What are the coordinates?

Top and the middle
OpenStudy (anonymous):
like how-- they have to be like.. (2, _ ) and that kind of thing
iYuko (iyuko):
@dan815 IDK what she is talking about
iYuko (iyuko):
I'm telling you how to find the equation of the line
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Like okay so to find it you have to get the coordinates for example
(3, 4) (1, 3) then you put them together like
3 - 1
_____
4 - 3 and then it'd be
2
_
1 and that'd be the slope for example/

Ill show you.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Oh. All I had to do was find the slope :/
OpenStudy (dan815):
sam, you got the slope equation backwards
OpenStudy (dan815):
it is the change in y/ change in x
so
"Like okay so to find it you have to get the coordinates for example
(3, 4) (1, 3) then you put them together like
4-3 <-------- like this
_____
3-1 and then it'd be
2
_
1 and that'd be the slope for example/"
OpenStudy (dan815):
Slope=Rise/Run, the change in vertical distance/ change in horizontal distance

\[M=\frac{ y2-y1 }{ x2-x1 }\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yeah my bad haha
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes yes I was having trouble finding the x and y coordinates
iYuko (iyuko):
Those are the points on the line
iYuko (iyuko):
The 3 dots You just have to pick 2 of then
