A 53-N force is needed to keep a 50.0-kg box sliding across a flat surface at a constant velocity. What is the coefficient of kinetic friction between the box and the floor?0.11 a)0.10 b)0.13 c)0.09 d)0.11

Constant velocity means the net force equals zero, so the force of friction has to equal the 53 N force. The force of friction is given by (normal force)*(coefficient of friction). To find the normal force, multiply 50 by the acceleration due to gravity (either 9.8 or 10). Using 10: 50 * 10 = 500. So if 500 times the coefficient of friction equals 53, then 53 divided by 500 equals the coefficient of friction. 53/500 = .106 So i guess it's D
