Consider a normal distribution of frog weights with μ= 500 grams and σ= 65 grams. A sample size of 2,000 is drawn from this population. Approximately how many of the 2,000 cases would you expect to find between 435 and 565?

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

Given μ= 500 grams and σ= 65 grams so 435 and 565 are exactly within one σ from μ For normal distribution, approximately 68% of sample value will fall within that range. You should be able to figure out the exact number from here. Good luck!

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

oh so am i looking for 68% of 2,000?

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

Correct :)

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

ok i got 1,360, thanks!!

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

Welcome...although u may want to read up on Normal Distribution before doing more hw on that. The 68% figure is really basic for normal distribution.

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

ok thanks
