OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
Its either A or D
OpenStudy (alexalas):
so it compounds once a year for two years here is the function
FV = PV × (1+r)^n
where FV = Future Value
PV = Present Value
r = annual interest rate
n = number of periods
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
so 2=7500*(1+4.2%)^n
whats N
OpenStudy (alexalas):
2
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
what did you get

I got 17,373
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
after rounding
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
what did you do wong

hmm where did you get this problem?
OpenStudy (alexalas):
annually means once a year right?
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
yes, it does!
OpenStudy (alexalas):
oh the word continuously changes the formula to
x=Pe^(rt), e is the mathematical constant just use 2.7
OpenStudy (alexalas):
still there

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
yes I am
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
wont me to get us help
OpenStudy (alexalas):
I found the correct formula it is x=Pe^(rt) where e= aprox 2.7 r=4.2% and t=2 p=7500
OpenStudy (alexalas):
hello?
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
i am trying to do it, but I cant

What's the problem, seems alexalas gave you all the information.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[x = Pe^{(rt)}\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Plug and chug :P
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
ok
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
whats X

What you're solving for
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
ok
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
@iambatman
ok so like this............ x=7500*2.7(4.2 / 2)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
No, it's 4.2% not 4.2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So what is 4.2% in decimals?

@iYuko
I CANT SOLVE THISSSSSSSSSSSSSS....HELP MEEEEE
@welshfella
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
I just cant get it right
OpenStudy (welshfella):
just plug in the values into P e^(rt)
P = 7500, r = 0.042 and t = 2
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
ok hold on one sec and let me try that

but I dont Get how to do the rt thing
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
how do you put the r and t in
OpenStudy (welshfella):
enter 7500 * e ( 0.042* 2) =
OpenStudy (welshfella):
- thas using my casio scientific calculator
OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):
ok Im doing that now

no afraid not
it should come to over 8000
OpenStudy (welshfella):
the exponential function e appears as this on most calucators
