*******Heat Chemistry Help for Medal******* What is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 150 grams of aluminum by 10°C? Select one: a. 4.18 J b. 13.45 J c. 1345.5 J d. 0.897 J

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Q = MCDeltaT so m=150g q=? DeltaT=10C and you would need the Specific Heat value of Al to finish this problem because that would be your C value to allow you to solve for Q.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got C.) would that be correct @sweetburger

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

what was the C value because it wasnt given in teh equation

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

i can check your work if you have it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is the entire problem we were given. 0.0 JI had: heat = mc delta t m= 150 gram c=specific heat of aluminum= .22 cal/g deg C delta t = 10 deg C 330 cal ___> 1385.4005 J *shrugs (close enough?)*

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Looks like you did it correctly :) I tried the problem and got the same answer.
