If you start with a 10g block of ice at -10.0 degrees celsius and add it to 50g of water at 40.0 degrees celsius. What is the final temperature of the system? The heat capacity of ice is 2.095 J/g degrees celsius and water is 4.18 J/g degress celsius. Heat of fusiom of ice is 80J/g.

OpenStudy (shamim):

Can u tell me the amount of heat needed for10g ice of -10 degree celcius to become water of 0 degree celcius

OpenStudy (shamim):

Nd heat will b release frm 50 g of water to become water of 0 degree celcius

OpenStudy (shamim):

Response plz!!!!!!

OpenStudy (shamim):

I wanna help u !!!

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: the requested heat is equal to the sum of the heat needed to melt the block of ice plus the heat needed to realize the equilibrium temperature of the system melted ice + hot water

OpenStudy (shamim):

U need to 2 equation to calculate heat Q=mLf

OpenStudy (shamim):

Q=ms*del theta

OpenStudy (shamim):

Try plz!!!
