Hey guys I think I am doing this question correctly, but the answer just seems wrong. If someone could check it for me that would be wonderful :) 2Al2+6HCl -> 3AlCl3 + 3H2 How many moles of hydrogen gas will be produced when 0.023g of aluminum is reacted with excess hydrochloric acid I got 6.38mol, that seems a bit much since when I calculated 0.1g of Al2 I got 0.027mol of H2

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Hm, I didn't get that much, but I think the reaction should be using Al not Al2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! I assumed that because it's aluminum metal that you would use Al2, kind of like how you automatically use H2 instead of just H

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

No, aluminum isn't diatomic. Only Br, I, N, Cl, H, O, and F

Okay! Thank you for your help ^^

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

No worries :-)
