What is the distance between R(4, –7) and S(10, 4)? A.) √157 UN B.) √127 UN C.) √85 UN D.) √45 UN
\[\huge\rm x=\sqrt{{(x_2 - x_1})^2 +(y_2- y_1)^2}\] distance formula (x_1,y_1)(x_2 ,y_2) plug x and y values into the formula
you forgot the formula ... this is why formulas are no good, and concepts are better
how are you going to find a distance if there is not formula :)
I got 11/6
11 "over" 6 ? how did you get fraction ? :-)
if we move our line so that it starts at the origin (how?) R-R = 0 sooo R(4, –7) and S(10, 4) -4 +7 -4 +7 ----------------- 0 0 6 11 now we have a right angle triangle with sides 6 and 11, the distance between them is pythagorean sqrt(6^2 + 11^2)
i think crazy worked slope ....
A?
and yes that's right
|dw:1430887064757:dw| 1st) plug in # 2nd) solve parenthses 3rd) square 4th)add 5th) square root 6th ) done answer
