Since the height requirements are in ft and in, and the mean and standard deviation for both women's height and men's height are in inches, we need to convert the height requirements to inches first. Remember that 1 ft = 12 inches. For example if we have 3 ft and 5 in it will be: 3 * 12 = 36 inches So, 3 ft and 5 inches = 36 + 5 = 41 inches. Is that part clear? :)
