@TheSmartOne
What kind of file is that?????????????
geometry
I click it and it makes me download something... I can't even open the file...

Those links are no good...
well i don't know why they aren't working
what about the screen shot do they work
yes, the file you uploaded worked.
ok so how do i solve it
what is the length of the base? assuming each block's side is equal to 1
6
and the height?
7 i believe
@welshfella
that is correct :)
Now what is \(\sf \Large Area = \frac{1}{2}\times Base\times Height\)
Plug in base = 6 height = 7
21
correct :)
i know how to do that but how do solve with the (X1,Y1) replacing the number
@TheSmartOne
ohhh, I didn't even see the answer choices :p
@GreatGuy
call the base of the triangle the line segment from (x1, y1) to (x2,y2) the "length" of this base is the difference from y1 to y2 if you had numbers, for example y1=2 and y2= 7, how would you find the distance from y1 to y2? you would do 7-1 = 6. if you don't know the numbers, you still do the same thing, but use letters: y2-y1
now find the length of the altitude, which is the distance from the base to the vertex at (x3,y3) notice the distance is in the x direction. what is the difference between x3 and x1 ?
