Since the dimensions are scaled down by a factor of 1/2, that means actually multiplying each dimension by 1/2.

\[6 \times \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }~~~\text{and}~~~8 \times \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }\] remember how on the previous question I showed you how to multiply by fractions, numerator by numerator, denominator by denominator where we can treat 6 and 8 as \[6 \implies \frac{ 6 }{ 1 }~~~\text{and}~~~8 \implies \frac{ 8 }{ 1 }\]

No look, if I have \[\frac{ 5 }{ 1 } \times \frac{ 4 }{ 2 } \implies \frac{ 20 }{ 2 } = 10\] Because first I multiply the numerator which is the top of the fraction and denominator is below the fraction line. Does that make sense?
