Do we have any trend for ionic size or ionic radius on the periodic table? Please explain.

@ korosh25: Yes, going across a period, ions tend to become smaller because the number of protons in the nucleus increases, while electron shielding remains constant. The increasing number of protons exert a stronger attractive force on the electrons. Going down a group, ions tend to become larger, since electrons are being added in higher energy levels, where the electrons closer to the nucleus "shield" the electrons further away from the nucleus in short, ion size increases down a group and decreases across a period
