Since it already gives the valuse for what X equals i plugged it in place of X on the other equation do you get that so far?

Do you see any like terms ONLY on the left side that can be combined?

(Divide both sides by 20)
y=4
Step: Substitute (4) for y in x=8y−12:
x=8y−12
x=(8)(4)−12
x=20(Simplify both sides of the equation)
