The wavelength of a specific photon in the infrared spectrum is 4 × 10-6 meters. Given that the speed of light is 2.998 × 108 m/s, what would be the frequency of this infrared wave?

OpenStudy (ciarán95):

There's a simple formula which can be used to solve this problem: \[c = (\lambda)(f)\] where c is the speed of light, lambda is the wavelength of the light and f is the frequency of the light. So, we know 2 of these parameters, and we can simply plug in their values to the formula to find the unknown variable, the frequency f.
