I will give a metal for helping
Describe the difference in intermolecular forces between the two molecules. How does this affect the properties of the substance
@Data_LG2, @jagr2713, @JackofallTradez, @JoannaBlackwelder
OK the 1st all molecules have london forces, molecule A has hydrogen bonding, and it is more polar, so it has higher Bp, and lower Mp. Molecule B is polar, but has a non polar Oxygen thus has higher mp, than bp. Intermolecular forces determines bp,mp
That should do it
but doesn't the second molecule have hydrogen bonding as well
No Hydrogen bonding is, F,O,N must be bonded to hydrogen
make sense
molecule A is Oxygen bonded to hyrdrogen, but molecule B oxygen is not bonded to any hydrogens
but there is an o and o3 on molecule two. Isn't there
sorry OH3
you sure it is not ch3, I only see 1 OH, and it is on molecue A
Im not sure the picture is awful
haha its ok,Im pretty sure there is only 1 OH in the picture
I checked multiple times
Trust me my answer is clear and specific, so you should be fine
ok thank you. A Metal as promised
Thanks, I know my Organic Chemistry well, so feel free to ask and I will help, keep working hard!
Hey @n648c788 how does Bp and Mp differ ? I thought if Bp is higher so should Mp too?
They are inversely related, so If you have high bp then you have low mp and if you have low bp then you have high mp
Good job @n648c788
