Two metals are used to make batteries. Would a battery in which both metals components are copper, make a good battery? Explain your reasoning.

Anode and cathode are the main components of a battery. Anode oxidizes and cathode reduces.

Both anodes and cathodes are made of metals. Metals with capable of oxidizing are used to make anodes an whereas reduces are used to make cathodes. Can you tell me about copper if a reducing or oxidizing metal?

I think it would be reducing. Because battery's store electric energy and copper isn't capable of storing that electric energy

Great! Cu are reducing metal. It only can be used in one of the electrodes. can this then be a anode?

Both poles made of same metal will not create potential difference and never generate power.
