Advanced Algebra, triangle
Use the formulas a = x^2 – y^2, b = 2xy, c = x^2 + y^2 to answer this question. One leg of a right triangle has length 11 and all sides are whole numbers. Find the lengths of the other two sides. The other leg= And the hypotenuse=
Well since this is a right angle triangle, we can already use the properties of Pythagoras' theorem. But before, we start on doing anything, we have to let one side equal to 11. I recommend not the hypotenuse to be 11
it has been a long time since i have even seen Pythagoras' theorem
Can you still remember at all? You can quickly search it up via the net ^^
give me a second to go look it up,(i c\just came back from the bathroom)
a^2+b^2=c^2
Right
So how do you think, you should approach this question?
11^2+b^2=c^2
yeap Just solve for that, and make on of the pro numerals the subject
Just remember, that we are working in 'x' and 'y' so you have to mold your equations around those variables
hmmm it is 9:27AM over here and my mind is still waking up :/
no worries it is 11:29 pm over here
is there a formula u can give me or an example?
Alright no problem
