such as (-4,-2) or (-2,1)

you do have enough points to use that equation. [-4, -2] is an interval, not a point. They're saying find the slope between the points where x = -4 and x = -2. What is the y-value when x = -4, and what is it for x = -2?
y= -12 when x= -4, and y= 0 when x= -2
ok. so the points are (-4, -12) and (-2, 0). \[ROC=\frac{ y _{2}-y _{1} }{ x _{2} -x _{1}}=\frac{ 0-(-12) }{ -2-(-4) }\]
and that equals 6 right
i cant get an equal answer when i try to do (-2,1)
