what is the area under the normal bell curve between z-scores of 1.82 and 2.09

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Need to find a table quick hang on a sec lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oke. c:

OpenStudy (shelby33):

The standard normal distribution is a normal distribution with a standard deviation on 1 and a mean of 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the choices i have are A:1.96% B:1.61% C:0.82% D:2.23%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could it be A, because its between 1.82 &2.09?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Okay got one lol So first we have a normal bell curve |dw:1433865528044:dw| *Kinda butchered it but oh well lol So we have a z-score of 1.82 and 2.09 From this table...the value for the area given will be from -infinity to the z-score...so Area from -infinity to 2.09 = 0.9817 Area from -infinity to 1.82 = 0.9656 So what we need to do is subtract these 2 numbers \[\large 0.9817 - 0.9656 = 0.0161\] Since you have percents as your answer choices...that will be 1.61%

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

The reasoning behind this is... We find the area under the curve up to 2.09 |dw:1433865849226:dw| And then we find the area under the curve up to 1.82 |dw:1433865898143:dw|
