OpenStudy (lynda.boyce):

Ok, I'm not sure if I am doing this problem right. Let G(x)=5/(x-2)^2. Find the lim x 2 G(x). I used 2 in the equation. so I got G(x)=5/(2-2)^2. the answer comes up as undefined.

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is really \[\lim_{x\to 2}\frac{5}{(x-2)^2}\]?

OpenStudy (lynda.boyce):

yes

OpenStudy (misty1212):

then since the denominator goes to zero and the numerator does not, there is no limit

OpenStudy (welshfella):

Doesn't the deniminator approach zero but not gat there so the limit is infinity.?

OpenStudy (lynda.boyce):

thank you @misty1212
