CENTER OF MASS
A 1.00 kg particle has the xy coordinates (-1.00 m, 1.00 m) and a 2.00 kg particle has the xy coordinates (0.800 m, -0.800 m). Both lie on a horizontal plane. At what (a) x and (b) y coordinates must you place a 3.00 kg particle such that the center of mass of the three-particle system has the coordinates (-0.400 m, -0.500 m)?
kindly help
@zepdrix
i just need help with this Q and nothing more.
i know the formula its Xcm= m1x1+m2x2+m3x3/m1+m2+m3
@UsukiDoll @ganeshie8
I don't know science related problems sorry
***i know the formula its Xcm= m1x1+m2x2+m3x3/m1+m2+m3*** fill in the information you know into that formula. You know numbers for almost all the variables.
1.00 kg with coords (-1.00 m, 1.00 m) : m1= 1 , x1= -1 2.00 kg with coords (0.800 m, -0.800 m). m2=2 , x2=0.8 3.00 kg particle m3= 3, x3 unknown center of mass (-0.400 m, -0.500 m) Xcm -0.4
oka thankyou
